Initially importing jeans from the U.S. to Japan in 1947 - denim production at that point being non-existent in Japan - Tsunemi Yonehachi went on to form EDWIN, which debuted its first pair of jeans in 1961. The Japanese brand further established itself as an authentic, pioneering and innovative denim brand over the coming decades, claiming many ‘firsts’ in denim production. EDWIN arrived in Europe in 2003, developing exclusive product for the European market and bringing a selection of Japanese items to a European audience.
